NFPA 1992 specifies minimum requirements for the design, performance, testing, and certification of the elements of liquid splash-protective ensembles including suits, gloves, and footwear; and individual protective clothing items including garments, suits, gloves, and footwear for emergency responders to hazardous materials incidents for protection from specified chemical liquid splash exposures. This standard also provides an additional optional requirement for chemical flash fire protection.
